From Crisis to Wellness
Imagine a child or teen so filled with anxiety or depression that they can barely function—or worse, have suicidal thoughts.
That scene is unfolding in many homes across the country. Today, mental health disorders affect nearly 1 billion people worldwide—making mental illness one of the top global burdens on health. U.S. life expectancy for children has declined for the first time in 40 years, due in part to suicide, now a leading cause of death among young people.
A Hopeful Future
Solving this crisis will take all of us. With your help, we’re reimagining pediatric mental health care for young people today—and for generations to come.
Our bold new approach combines research, clinical care, training, and family-and-community support in one seamless and healing space. Our partnership with Franciscan Children’s means we’re developing new ways to treat children and give families hope.
Our Vision
Our vision for mental health care for young people is based on four principles:
- Family and communities are central to healing.
- Researchers work alongside clinical care teams to develop effective treatments.
- Children should feel and be valued for who they are.
- There is no physical health without mental health.
