Hospital Areas You Can Support
Our most vital fund, The Every Child Fund empowers Boston Children’s goal of giving every child a healthy future. Your gift supports care, life-saving research, and family programs not covered by insurance.
We offer a last hope for many sick children. When families come from more than 50 miles away, our patient family program provides affordable housing in a home-like environment. This year, families spent 14,678 nights in safe, subsidized lodging, including the Yawkey Family Inn.
This warm, friendly center gives families support throughout their experience at Boston Children’s. Here, families can turn for financial help, information on their child’s illness, as well as wellness programs, coffee groups and play to ease stress and restore energy.
Boston Children’s Hospital leads the world in pediatric innovation. Our Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator (IDHA) is shaping the future of health care by building new technologies, collaborating with industry, and deploying a comprehensive digital health platform.
Under the direction of Peter Weinstock, MD, PhD, the world-leading Boston Children’s Hospital Simulator Program (SIMPeds) uses a raft of new technologies—from 3D printing to special-effects enhanced mannequins that bleed and breathe—to enable doctors to plan and practice difficult procedures.
A first-of-its-kind web-based educational resource for clinicians around the world, providing video lectures, demonstrations, and interactive simulations to help physicians and nurses anywhere provide optimal care. More than 3,000 users in 105 countries use the OPENPediatrics platform.
Clinicians at Boston Children’s use digital technologies to provide patient care, professional consultations and education at a distance, allowing them to share their expertise beyond the settings of the hospital and outpatient clinic.
Boston Children’s is the largest provider of care to low-income children in the Boston area, reaching upwards of 20,000 children through compressive, family-centered primary care and community health programs. We bring the same ingenuity to improving health outcomes for underserved kids as to repairing a heart defect or a broken bone, including:
- Asthma Initiative: Efforts have led to 81% of families reduced hospital admissions and 62% reduced emergency visits.
- Boston Children's Hospital Neighborhood Partnerships (CHNP): offers on-site behavioral health and clinical services, prevention programs, consultation and training. 92% of partner schools show an increased ability to proactively address student mental health needs.
- Fitness and nutrition programs: Children’s partners with more than 20 community-based clinics and organizations to promote healthy eating and fitness for overweight and obese children and teens.
- Injury Prevention Program: Injury is the leading cause of childhood deaths. Children’s Injury Prevention Program addresses it through school- and neighborhood clinic-based educational programs.
